Panera Bread cafes are where a lot of my wedding consultations happen. The smell of yummy soup and bread, tasty tea and coffee, and cute cookies contributes to the overall sweetness of these meetings. The first consultation with a clientfriend is one of my favorite things. I imagine it to be kind of like a first date, where you are mutually excited/nervous/curious in the beginning, but then you hit it off, and just talk and talk and talk for time on end. That's how it was when I met Nicole. I could tell she was my kind of people as soon as I handed her a coffee...

Dear 20-year-old me,

Hey, it's me. Well, you. Well, us together. We are the same.

30 years ago today a 30-year-old woman gave birth to a round baby girl that the nurses said looked like the Gerber baby, and others questioned whether or not you were named after Erika Kane from Days of Our Lives (because that was cool in the '80s). Actually, you were named after your mother's brother, Eric. Your mom was psyched that day; you were a miracle baby, and she had had dreams of you long before you were even born.

I'm Giving Away a Wedding - Again!

My mom died before I was even engaged, which was truly heartbreaking to me. Her biggest dream was to see her daughters get married. Growing up, we talked a lot about weddings. We talked about gowns and rings and how she prayed for us to marry the perfect person.

We talked. I miss that.

The anniversary of Mum's death is July 16. 6 years. So, sometimes, July sucks. But this year, July is going to be awesome. Why?

Because I'm giving away a wedding.

Yes. For real. This is not a joke.

I'm giving away a wedding package for the upcoming 2018 season.

What do you get when you mix Qalo wedding bands, a previously-loved gown, blooming cherry trees, a quiet town with no cell phone service, and heart-bursting love? Christina + TJ, of course. ;)

If I could bottle up the feeling of calm excitement and sweet confidence that was in the air on May 21, 2017, I would spray it every day, like the best smelling perfume.

Mr + Mrs Farrell // An Elegant Spring Wedding in Tarrytown, NY

I teared up when Lori + George's wedding was over. For real. Happy tears, but also sad tears. Because it was over. Two years of planning. Two years of texting back and forth. Two years of dreaming about this incredible day. I kind of feel like one of my limbs has been cut off without being able to say "xyz number of days left - eeee!" to Lori. It feels a little weird. You see, I have been with these two souls for 24 whole months; they booked me for their fabulous wedding day in 2015, and it has been my absolute joy to walk with them along this path.

When Lori + George's officiant was offering a small message during their marriage ceremony, he mentioned that these two loves scored the highest anyone could score on a compatibility test during their marriage counseling. Truth be told, it wasn't that surprising. ;) Lori is to George what the sun is to the moon; brightness that is continually reflected between two beings. Their hearts are intertwined in some of the most beautiful of ways...

Jaime // A Lifegiving Session at Stonykill Farm in Beacon, NY

I seem to be surrounded by pregnant mamas lately. I won't lie - I'm not mad about it. :) I think pregnancy is one of the most beautiful, remarkable, and miraculous things that a woman can go through. Jaime's pregnancy is even more special because she's my sister-in-love, so her cute little belly is holding my new nephew. T minus 2 weeks, y'all...

Album Magic

I recently began offering albums as an add-on option for my sweet wedding clientfriends, and received my first sample album in the mail this past week. It was like I was opening up my OWN wedding album when I took it out of the wrapping - I was THAT excited. You better believe I'll be carrying this to every meeting and consultation I ever do from here on out...

March 2017: Green Emojis, LLCs, and Library Cards

Oh, March. It seems to always be the month that ushers in Spring while still remaining cold and wet. March 2017 was no different. We started the month with gorgeous, warm weather and ended with a blizzard. Whyyyyyy.

Nevertheless, March was a fab month this year...

Kait + Chris // An Autumn Engagement in Staatsburg, NY

I grew up in Boston where fall foliage drew crowds of tourists, and autumn smelled like salt air, roasting peanuts, and car exhaust. Adorable Kait had a similar upbringing. When I moved to New York five years ago, I had no idea that this beautiful state could put on a fall show that could actually rival Boston's...

Mr + Mrs Ludlow // A Forest Green and Copper Inspired Fall Wedding in Middletown, NY

Alex + Kevin are the type of people you always want to be around. They are magnetic with their wit and cheerfulness, and draw others to them easily with their compassion and kindness. They love to encourage others, and it's evident in every part of every interaction with them. They are givers, and they exude a special type of goodwill that you can't quite put your finger on, but you know you want it in your life...

Devin + Kristy // An Engagement Session at Dover Stone Church, NY

I have no clever words or sayings deep enough to express how much I love Kristy + Devin, and how much I adored their engagement session.

The most beautiful Fall afternoon. The most perfect outfits. The most incredible scenery. The most gorgeous people - inside and out.

Sometimes words fail me, and I am ok with being quiet and letting images speak for themselves...

And the 2017 word for the year is...

I spent the beginning of my 2016 in a haze. It was a rough start. I had a few things whirling around in my life that weren't the best, and I lived in fear of the notifications on my phone. Pretty pathetic, huh?

The Top Eight Things I Learned in Business in 2016

If you follow my Instagram, you were able to count down my top 31 favorite moments of 2016. Some had to do with my business, some had to do with my personal life - almost all of them had to do with connection.

Connection is so much. In life. And in business. I'm a firm believer that genuine connection with others should be a priority in business. 2016 has taught me this well...

Emelyne // A Sweet Fempreneur Session

I think Fempreneur sessions are hard to put into words. Technically, it's a little bit of portrait work, a little bit of detail work, a little bit of staging... Personally, it's a lot of opening up, it's a lot of sharing, it's a lot of connecting.

I'm not going to lie, it can be scary. Connection is scary. Emotion is scary. Opening your world up to THE world is scary, but I have to tell you...

Mr + Mrs Bower // A Rustic Ridge View Farm Wedding in Kerhonksen, NY

It's funny how certain memories stick. I remember very vividly meeting Jamie + Nick for the first time. They dreamt of their gorgeous farm wedding with me. They told me about the incredible venue, their thoughts for their colors and bridesmaid dresses, their desire to have a day that just encompassed all that they are together, and celebrated it in the best of ways...
