It's no secret that October is to photographers what April is to accountants. It's busy, busy, busy; everything is always moving, moving, moving; emails are flying, nights are long, and coffee is being sucked down by the pot.
But on a mid-October day this past season, for Makayla and Doug's engagement session, I felt like time stopped.
I will never forget the first time I met Makayla and Doug in a quiet Panera in Brookfield, Connecticut. They walked into the small restaurant, excited and in love, and we all three knew as soon as we started talking that we couldn't NOT work together for their upcoming boho wedding. Their engagement session a few months later was like a breath of fresh air. We walked around Tarrywile like we had been friends forever. They told me about their families' legacies and teachings; they dreamt about their upcoming wedding. And when Makayla's new shoes started to hurt to her, Doug took a fifteen minute walk back to their car just to bring back a different pair of shoes, to make sure she was comfortable.
They're so in love with each other, and I'm so in love with them. Bring on September 1, 2017, lovelies. I can't wait to spend another whole day with these two then. :)
