Barn at Villa Venezia Wedding // Colleen + Will
Colleen and Will met in college, and by the time we got to spend their wedding day with them, it was easy to see how many years of knowing each other had shaped the way they are together. They got engaged in Boston and got married on a gorgeous October day at The Barn at Villa Venezia in Middletown, NY, with our Sweet Alice Studios team there to capture it.
The Couple
Colleen and Will are two of the kindest people the team and I have had the opportunity to spend time with. There's an ease to how they talk about each other, the kind that comes from years of practice, and they both seem to find good things to say about the other without even trying. It's not performative - it's just how they are. That same warmth carried through their whole weding day, in how they treated their families, their wedding party, and each other.
The Venue
The Barn at Villa Venezia in Middletown gave the day a warm, rustic backdrop, and the timing could not have been better. Mid-October brought gorgeous weather and foliage in full color, which made for some really beautiful light throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
The Details
Colleen's gown was a stunning choice, satin with a straight, plunging neckline and a lace train that added just the right amount of drama when she walked. Will wore a classic black tux, and the wedding party rounded things out in rusty red and black - a palette that fit perfectly with the fall setting. For favors, guests went home with s'mores: a sweet and simple touch that suited the whole vibe of the day.
The Reception
Everything about this day felt easy and genuinely sweet, from the weather to the way Colleen and Will moved through it together. There wasn't anything forced about it - just two people who clearly adore each other, surrounded by family and friends on a beautiful fall afternoon.
Colleen and Will's wedding was a really lovely reminder of what it looks like when two people have simply grown comfortable and grateful for each other over time. It was a sweet day from start to finish.
