Brotherhood Winery Wedding // Sarah + Stephanie
Sarah and Stephanie met online, and from everything I saw on their wedding day, it's clear they found exactly the right person. They got married on a gorgeous fall day in Washingtonville, New York, and their wedding had this lovely, lived-in warmth to it, full of family, a big and joyful wedding party, and two brides who clearly adore each other. Their day was everything good that a wedding has potential to be. 🥹
The Couple
I could tell within minutes of being around Sarah and Steph how much their people mean to them. Family (both chosen and blood) was at the center of everything, not just in the posed portraits but in all the small in-between moments too - a hand held a little tighter during a quiet moment, special loved ones pulled in for one more photo because someone insisted, that particular kind of joy that only shows up when good souls have been looking forward to a precious celebration.
The Venue
They got married at Brotherhood Winery in Washingtonville, NY, which holds the title of America's oldest winery. Their ceremony was outside, and their reception was held indoors, in a space with steel beams and exposed stone that gave it this striking, almost medieval feel - more great hall than a typical tent. It felt both cozy and regal all at once.
The Details
Both brides chose gowns with lace, though they each took it in different directions. Sarah wore an A-line dress with tank sleeves, lace up top and a soft satin skirt below - beautifully romantic. Steph went all in on lace with a fitted, flare-bottomed gown and long sleeves, giving her a more dramatic, old-world silhouette. Their flowers leaned into fall with sunflowers front and center and little pops of red and white tucked throughout, warm and a bit rustic in the best way. With that wine and burgundy palette running through the wedding party too, everything just felt like it belonged together.
The Reception
Right before the sun started to dip, we took a few moments for golden hour portraits, and I have to say, this was my favorite stretch of the whole day. Fall light does something magical on its own, and Sarah and Steph made these portraits easy - they were sweet, excited, leaning into each other. Once inside, the celebration kept rolling with family and friends late into the night, which felt like exactly the right way for a day like this to end.
Sarah and Stephanie's wedding was such a good reminder of what actually sticks with you after a wedding. It's rarely one big showstopping moment, rarely the little details - it's simply the people in the room and reminders of the sweet, small choices two people make together to bring them to such a sweet and celebratory day.
