I don’t think I’ll ever be able to adequately express how much I adored working with Elle and Matt for their beautiful Glen Island Harbour Club wedding. They are two of the best people around, and being able to be alongside them during their wedding planning journey was nothing short of joyous.
As a wedding photographer, I get to meet so many incredible couples, but there was something truly special about these two. They are kind, thoughtful, and full of joy; they always radiate positivity. Without a doubt, working with Elle and Matt was one of the highlights of my wedding season this particular year, and they will always hold a special place in my heart.
THE COUPLE
Elle and Matt truly are the perfect complement to one another; they’re both incredibly positive and kind, and they light up any room they enter. They share a deep appreciation for all good things: family, their cats, laughter, meaningful traditions, and building a life full of purpose and joy. It’s clear that their bond is built not only on love, but also on mutual respect and admiration. Both are career-driven, yet they remain grounded and present, always taking time to celebrate important milestones with the people who matter most. Watching them support and uplift each other throughout their wedding day was such a beautiful reminder of how powerful and rare a love like theirs really is.
THE VENUE
As a wedding photographer, few venues capture the essence of romance and elegance quite like the Glen Island Harbour Club. Nestled on an inlet inside of a park, this waterfront gem offers a serene backdrop that's both timeless and breathtaking. Elle and Matt chose to host their celebration in the downstairs reception room, a space adorned with expansive glass windows and twinkle lights. This venue is a standout choice for anyone wanting a memorable waterfront wedding.
THE DETAILS
Elle and Matt’s wedding day was a beautiful fusion of elegance, deep-rooted tradition, and heartfelt celebration. From the moment I arrived to capture their day, the rich burgundy and soft pink details stood out as a stunning thread woven throughout. The color choices were romantic without being overpowering; timeless with just the right amount of boldness.
Their ceremony took place at a breathtaking Greek Orthodox church, and it was clear from the start how important the traditions were to them. The crowning ceremony, the walk around the altar, and the prayers were not only visually captivating but steeped in meaning. As a photographer, these moments are always an honor to witness and capture - not just for their beauty, but for the story they tell. Elle and Matt’s ceremony was rich with symbolism, representing unity, eternity, and the presence of God in the couple’s bond. Watching Elle and Matt embrace these customs with such reverence and joy added a powerful emotional layer to their story, and being able to document it all was truly special.
THE RECEPTION
Elle and Matt’s wedding reception was an absolute celebration in every sense of the word; it was full of laughter, love, and so many unforgettable moments. The night kicked off with traditional group dances that had guests of all ages linking arms and joining in, offering a palpable sense of community and tradition. Then, the heartfelt toasts that had the entire room tearing up one minute and laughing the next, each speech painting a beautiful picture of the couple’s character and the deep bonds they share with their loved ones. The dance floor stayed packed all night, and it was such a joy to capture the genuine smiles, the twirls, and the joyful chaos that made their celebration so incredibly fun and memorable.
Elle and Matt, thank you for being the absolute best. I will always be grateful to know you.
