Old Adriance Farm Wedding // Alexa + Travis

There are some couples - their journeys, their weddings - that just stay ingrained in your mind and memory forever…Alexa and Travis are one of those couples for me. I distinctly remember adventuring through a local trail for their engagement session; the first time I spoke to Alexa about her wedding to Travis (and bonding over our love of cats); meeting their furbabies at the end of their engagement session; every sweet and adorable and sunkissed moment on their beautiful October wedding day. When I think of our journey together, I breathe in the sweet vibe of their wedding day, and exhale with a feeling of peace.

Working with Alexa and Travis was all things precious, from beginning to end.

THE COUPLE

By the time Alexa and Travis got married, they had been together for over seven years, having met at a party after just missing each other in high school. Together, they are one of the most laid back and comfortable couples I have ever met. They are effortless with one another, keeping up quiet conversation, enjoying each others’ sense of humor, and just generally living in kindness with each other. They are easy to be around because they exude a sense of ease with each other. Photographing them is uncomplicated because they aren’t worried about the camera - they just enjoy those moments of being together.

THE VENUE

Old Adriance Farm was the perfect location to host Alexa and Travis’ wedding, especially because they wanted their wedding to have a theme of “rustic elegance.” This venue is truly a gorgeous location - Iit boasts a beautiful red barn with updated amenities inside, as well as a connected covered pavilion. Additionally, it has multiple locations to create incredible golden hour and sunset portraits, because it is situated on a hill.

One of my favorite things about Old Adriance Farm is that it has live animals accessible on the property. I love being able to say hi to the cows, goats, horses, ducks, and chickens on the property - and incorporating them into portraits on a wedding day.

Old Adriance also has a small taproom and brewery on property that is open to the public - you can visit Black Snake Brewing Company on most warm summer days.

THE DETAILS

Alexa and Travis chose a colorful yet earthy aesthetic for their wedding day details. Their florals were bright, and the bridesmaids wore dark olive dresses, while the groomsmen wore gray suits. My favorite detail from the day was Travis’ all-black look. It suited him so well, and photographed so nicely beside Alexa’s lacey bohemian bridal look.

Alexa and Travis set up their reception in the covered open-air pavilion outside of the barn, and reserved the indoor space for the bar and dancing alone, which I thought was a nice and unique set up. It’s so rare that we get to enjoy an al fresco reception, and the perfect weather that Alexa and Travis had on their wedding day made their outdoor reception all the more special.

THE RECEPTION

Alexa and Travis really wanted to have a relaxed and fun wedding day - and, honestly, their wedding day delivered exactly that. From the outdoor dining to the thoughtful speeches, and adorable parent dances, everything just felt sweet and easy.

Everything was perfect on this wedding day. The people, the location, the weather, the vibes.

Alexa and Travis, want to host another wedding? I would be there in a heartbeat.

FROM THE COUPLE

"Erica is honestly amazing! Before picking a wedding photographer, I really had no idea what style, price, and look we were going for with our wedding photos. As soon as I saw Erica's photos on Instagram, how she used the light and made each photo stand out with natural beauty, I knew exactly what I wanted. She was so easy to talk with, from our first conversation to the last, especially when it was regarding cats. My fiancé and I never took professional photos together, so when it came to the engagement shoot, she made everything so effortless and brought an ease to smiling in front of the camera. Come wedding day, she kept everything on track and made sure we got every photo we wanted. Erica is not only an awesome photographer, but person as well. She is kind, light-hearted, down to earth, funny and will just bring a sense of calm to your wedding! And she had sneak peeks the very next day for us to enjoy!! One of the best vendor decisions we made!"
