Oh, but isn’t life lived in the in-between? In the moments that are somewhat out of focus; in the laughs of grandmothers; in the wedding day selfies, and in the quiet moments of getting ready? In the pups that tag along on the engagement sessions; in the swish of long, flowy skirts in the mountains and on the riversides; in the cuddles; in the sweet and simple steps in uncomfortable high heels?

It’s easy to miss these moments on a wedding day - really, on any day. We become so focused on the big and the loud, the crazy and the chaotic. These big things deserve our attention, absolutely. But so do these tiny, gorgeous, foundation-laying moments, that whisper to us, “We were here first. We paved the way.”

Oh. But isn’t life lived in the in-between?
