When I pulled up to the Airbnb in Saugerties, it was quiet in the best way. No loud chaos, no one running around - just folks getting dressed and gathering, and a few last-minute details coming together. That’s the kind of day Evan and Lauren had planned at their Airbnb in Saugerties. Simple, intentional, and surrounded only by the people who mattered most.
THE COUPLE
Evan and Lauren knew they didn’t want a big, traditional wedding. Instead, they chose to keep things small and personal, opting for a microwedding that felt more like a family gathering than an event. With just their closest friends and family in attendance, they created a day that was focused on connection, not production, which allowed everyone to be incredibly present.
THE VENUE
Lauren and Evan rented an Airbnb tucked away in Saugerties, New York, right on the Hudson River. The backyard opened up to a stunning view of the water, which became the natural backdrop for their ceremony.
The Airbnb itself added a laid-back, homey feel to the whole day. Everyone mingled freely, moved in and out of rooms, and helped bring the celebration to life in a way that felt real and effortless.
THE DETAILS
There were a lot of thoughtful touches throughout the day, but one that really stood out was how Evan and Lauren included their guests in the ceremony. Before exchanging vows, they passed their rings around their gathering, giving each person a chance to hold them and add their own quiet blessing or good energy. It was simple and powerful. No frills, just intention.
Lauren wore a classic off-the-shoulder gown that looked timeless without being overly formal. Her blue suede heels were a subtle pop of personality that matched her laid-back style. Evan wore a dark blue suit, clean and modern, perfectly suited to the vibe of the day.
Their pets couldn’t be there in person, but they were there in spirit - represented by custom cutouts that guests used in photos throughout the evening. It was a fun, lighthearted way to keep them included.
Lauren’s bouquet was understated and beautiful, all in shades of white that felt soft and elegant.
THE RECEPTION
As the sun started to set, everyone headed inside for dinner and toasts. No seating chart, no DJ, just people gathered close around the kitchen island, plates balanced in hands, glasses clinking between stories. It felt less like a reception and more like an evening at a friend’s house, which honestly is probably what made it so good.
The toasts were kind and heartfelt in the way only close family and friends can offer. Everyone was packed into the living space, shoulder to shoulder, and nobody cared. It wasn’t about the perfect setup. It was about being there, all together.
Evan and Lauren’s wedding was a reminder that you don’t need a lot of extras to have a meaningful day. A good view, a cozy space, the right people, and a couple who knows what matters most - that’s more than enough.
