Washingtonville Wedding // Angela + Sean

It’s not every wedding that sticks with you for years, but Angela and Sean’s has. It was small, relaxed, and so full of personality. Every choice - from the colors to the location - felt like a perfect reflection of who they are. And somehow, in the middle of November in New York, they got the kind of weather you dream about: sunny, crisp, and just cool enough in the evening to let you feel cozy.

THE COUPLE

Angela and Sean have been together since 2013, and you can tell - they have that easy, comfortable connection that comes from really knowing each other. Their engagement story is just as unique as they are: Sean proposed with a replica of Galadriel’s ring after a game of Lord of the Rings Risk. That little detail alone should tell you how much they love their shared hobbies and each other.

Sean is a thoughtful enneagram 2, Angela is a grounded enneagram 9, and they both work for a company that focuses on specialty board games. Sean was also in school, but somehow still managed to pour his heart into planning this wedding. He was so excited all day - tearing up more than once as we were taking photos. And Angela, with her purple hair and black lace-over-white gown, had this amazing presence that made everyone feel just as excited as she was.

THE VENUE

FEAST at Round Hill in Washingtonville, NY (though it’s no longer open) was the perfect setting for Angela and Sean. It had this mix of charm, warmth, and nature that fit their personalities so well. Since they live in Florida, theirs was a destination wedding, and their guests got to experience the Hudson Valley at its absolute best.

The grounds were gorgeous, and the November light made everything feel a little extra magical. It was the kind of day where you wanted to slow down, take a deep breath, and just enjoy being there.

THE DETAILS

Martine and the team at Wedding MD absolutely nailed planning and coordinating this wedding. Everything ran smoothly, and Angela and Sean were able to fully enjoy their day without worrying about what was happening behind the scenes.

Angela’s dress, a white gown with a black lace overlay, was the perfect choice for her. Sean’s deep green suit tied in perfectly with their colorful palette of greens, purples, and fuchsia.

Their wedding party was amazing - just the kindest, most encouraging people who clearly love Angela and Sean to pieces. You could feel that support all day long, and it made the atmosphere so relaxed and happy.

THE RECEPTION

As the sun set, the reception space filled with soft light, laughter, and music. The vibe was warm and inviting, with jewel-toned flowers and greenery creating a cozy, intimate atmosphere.

It didn’t feel like a formal event - it felt like a gathering of friends and family who were just genuinely happy to be there. Between heartfelt toasts, little glances between the couple, and bursts of laughter from the tables, it was one of those nights where time seemed to fly.

This wedding was good for my soul. Something about it still sits with me in the best way. Every November, I watch the early winter sunsets, and reminisce on exploring outside with Angela and Sean on their day, quiet, calm, and happy. What a gift to be able to share in this type of joy.

FROM THE COUPLE

“Having Erica at our wedding was an absolute treat. Erica was also super supportive and kind leading up to the wedding while helping with our questions, and really just being our cheerleader. She and her second photographer brought such incredible and positive energy, and were just a joy to be around and talk to. They had their own ideas for pictures that we were fans of, but also asked us what we wanted and listened to any suggestions or input we had. They constantly worked with us to make sure they were accomplishing what we were looking for. They were kind and patient with our wedding party and families, and also kept us on track with the timeline. We've seen the edited sneak peek pictures (which they got to us SUPER quickly after the wedding) so far, and they're all absolutely incredible. We love the way they focus on the people but also include so much of the environment in their pictures. We picked a beautiful venue, and so we were looking forward to that aspect of their photography after seeing some of their work - and we were far from disappointed. During the day they made sure to incorporate as much of the scenery as possible while taking pictures that were very important to us. More than being a wedding vendor, they truly felt like our friends and we sincerely hope to have the opportunity to work with them again in the future.”
