Westchester Wedding // Keely + Tom
Hollow Brook Golf Club in Cortlandt Manor, NY has such a relaxed, open quality that really just sets such a nice tone for a wedding day. Keely and Tom got married there on a warm August afternoon, and from the moment I arrived it was clear this was going to be a good and precious day. Good light, good people, and a whole lot of laughter from start to finish.
The Couple
Keely and Tom are the kind of people you feel at ease around almost immediately. Keely brings this infectious yet understated energy to everything - she's funny, warm, and engaging; she instantly feels like an old friend. Tom is quieter, but equally present, the kind of person who will genuinely go along with whatever you suggest and actually mean it. Together they balance each other out in a way that shows up naturally in photos. They love to travel, they love being outside, and when it came to their wedding day, they had one clear priority: having a genuinely great time with the people they love most.
There was no wedding party, and they made a deliberate choice to keep formal group portraits to a minimum. That decision gave the whole day a looser, more relaxed rhythm, and it meant Keely and Tom could actually be present for it. As a photographer, that kind of intention makes a real difference. We had time to wander, to take a few quiet moments together, and to let things unfold naturally.
The Venue
Hollow Brook Golf Club sits within a neighborhood in Cortlandt Manor with views that open up beautifully in the summer light. On a warm August day, the grounds felt lush and easy, the kind of place where guests can move around freely and everything feels naturally social. The venue has a classic feel without being stiff, which suited Keely and Tom perfectly.
One of my favorite things about shooting at a golf club like Hollow Brook is the variety of light and landscape you get throughout the day. The rolling greens, tree lines, and open sky give you so many options for portraits, and in August that golden afternoon light is hard to beat. I also brought along some film for a few frames throughout the day (a new endeavor of mine!), and the warm tones of the venue translated beautifully.
The Details
Keely's style for the day was considered and personal without feeling overdone. She wore a lace gown that was elegant and timeless, and her hair was done in a beautiful braid that felt like her - put-together but not fussy. Tom was in a sharp blue suit, and the two of them looked like they genuinely belonged together in the best way.
The detail that really stuck with me was Keely's bouquet. She chose a mix of blues and warm peach and orange tones, which was striking. It photographed especially well against her gown, and those colors ended up threading through a lot of the day in a really cohesive way. For anyone who has ever wondered whether bold color choices will hold up in photos - they absolutely do, and they’re truthfully my favorite to photograph. Give me color any day.
The Reception
The reception was the main event, and everyone knew it. Keely and Tom are people who throw a good party, and their guests showed up ready for one. The energy in the room was warm and celebratory from the start, the kind of atmosphere that doesn't need much nudging because everyone is genuinely happy to be there.
As the night went on, the dance floor filled up and stayed that way. There's something about a wedding where the couple is clearly having fun that gives everyone else permission to do the same, and that was absolutely true here. 🥰
Keely and Tom, thank you for trusting me with your wedding day. It was such an easy, joyful day to be part of, and I came home with full memory cards and a full heart. Y’all are the best.
