Bad Seed Cider Wedding // Jacqueline + Joe
Jacqueline and Joe's July celebration at Bad Seed Cider was one of those weddings that just felt genuinely, quietly joyful from start to finish. Our Sweet Alice Studios photographer Debbie had the pleasure of documenting their day, and it was a beautiful one. If you are planning a summer wedding in the Hudson Valley and you have been dreaming of something intimate, relaxed, and full of warmth, keep reading.
The Couple
Ten years is a long time to build a life with someone, and by the time Jacqueline and Joe said their vows, you could feel every bit of that wonderful shared history throughout their entire ceremony. They are the kind of people who are easy to be around. Warm and genuinely happy in each other's company. The two of them love to hike and spend time outdoors together, so it made sense that they got married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony.
The Venue
Jacqueline and Joe's ceremony was intentionally small, just close family gathered together, which gave those moments a closeness and intimacy that larger ceremonies sometimes do not have room for.
As the July light started to soften into golden hour, Debbie took Jacqueline and Joe outside for a few extra couple portraits, and those images speak for themselves. The warm light, the outdoor setting, and a couple who genuinely love being together made for some of the most gorgeous portraits of the season.
The Details
Jacqueline and Joe’s vision for the day was soft and sweet. Jacqueline wore a blush lace gown that was just beautiful in the natural light, and Joe complemented her perfectly in a sharp black suit with a blush bow tie. The color palette of pinks and blush tones carried through every detail of the day and pulled everything together beautifully.
The cider room at the reception was decorated in those same blush tones, and the effect was warm and romantic. Jacqueline also changed into a party dress later on in the evening, which was so fun and cute.
The Reception
The reception is where the day really opened up. More guests joined to celebrate, the cider room glowed, and there was a taco truck. Honestly, a taco truck at a wedding is always a good decision, and the guests were very much on board. It set a tone that was festive and fun.
There was a lot of laughter, a lot of dancing, and a lot of the kind of moments that happen when people who love each other are all in one place together. Debbie did a beautiful job moving through the evening and capturing all of it.
Jacqueline and Joe, thank you for trusting Sweet Alice Studios with your wedding day. Debbie had such a wonderful time with you both, and these photographs were such a joy to curate for you. Wishing you many more years of hiking, adventures, and time with the people you love most.
From The Couple
"We recommend the Sweet Alice Photography team a thousand times over! When we first reached out to Erica, she let us know that she was already booked for a wedding but recommended Debbie from her team. Erica provided a very detailed inquiry form to get to know us better and said that she thought Debbie’s personality and style would match well with ours. We met Erica over a Zoom call, and from the very start, we felt so comfortable with her. We trusted her judgment completely that Debbie would be a great fit. During our consultation, we were ready to book on the spot, but Erica encouraged us to take a few days to discuss it to make sure we were confident in our decision. That small gesture spoke volumes about Erica’s caring character; she truly wanted us to feel no pressure and to feel certain that Sweet Alice Photography was the right choice for us. Erica also shared some of Debbie’s galleries for us to check out and we were in awe of her work. A few days later, we booked, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we made! Erica was absolutely right - Debbie was incredible and brought such a warm, calming presence.
As the wedding day approached, Erica was so helpful about things I began to stress over. I didn’t have a coordinator, and I felt pretty clueless about how to organize the timeline for the day, but Erica took the time to ask thoughtful questions about my vision and offered valuable suggestions to make sure everything ran smoothly. She helped draft a detailed timeline and create a shot list, taking into account all the family groupings. I cannot stress enough how KIND Erica was during this whole process. Erica often reached out with sweet notes of encouragement and little surprises leading up to the wedding. Erica became a wonderful support and I am so appreciative.
During our engagement session, Debbie immediately put us at ease. Debbie is so personable and sweet and helped us pose in ways that felt natural and relaxed. The conversation flowed effortlessly and she made the entire experience fun. The photos came out absolutely beautiful, which only made us even more excited for the wedding photos to come!
On our wedding day, we had Debbie and a second photographer with us, and they brought so much joy and energy! They were incredibly sweet and made us feel celebrated the entire day. They also picked up on family dynamics and ensured everyone felt included and happy. Our ceremony was intimate, with only immediate family present, and having Debbie and her second photographer there felt perfect. Their emotional connection to the day was so genuine; there were moments when we caught them tearing up along with us or smiling with joy. Seeing our photography team share in our happiness made the day even more special and we are so grateful! We received sneak peeks of our photos a couple days later and they were absolutely gorgeous! When the full gallery arrived, we couldn’t stop squealing with excitement! Every photo beautifully captured the love and joy of the day.
We are so happy with our decision to hire the Sweet Alice team and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for a photography team that is not only talented but also warm, caring, and a joy to work with. We are beyond grateful!!!"
