The Kittle House Inn Wedding // Dani + Dan
If you are planning a summer wedding in the Hudson Valley and want to see what a warm, color-filled, genuinely fun celebration looks like, Dani and Dan's July wedding at the Kittle House Inn in Chappaqua, NY is the ultimate in inspiration. From lush greenery and colorful florals to a dance floor that did not quit all night, this day had so much personality from start to finish.
The Couple
I first connected with Dani and Dan through Elle and Matt, who are honestly two of my favorite people, and they did not disappoint with this introduction. Dani and Dan met at work, and both come from families they are incredibly close to (and this precious fact was evident throughout their entire wedding day). They have a puppy named Harry, they like to go running together, and they approached their wedding with one shared goal: to fully enjoy it. There was absolutely no fuss. They just wanted to show up, be present, and have a good time with the people they love most. That energy is genuinely contagious and it made my job so much fun, especially on this day.
The Venue
The Kittle House Inn has been around since the 1700s and sits in the heart of Chappaqua, surrounded by mature trees and garden greenery that gave the whole day a lush, layered backdrop. The space is charming and intimate, and on a hot July afternoon, the greenery provided welcome shade for portraits. During golden hour photos, we also had the sweet joy of observing a cute deer observing us; it was such a darling detail to the day.
The Details
The wedding party wore blush, champagne, and navy - a combination that looked stunning against all the green outside. The florals were where things really came alive. Instead of going the soft and neutral route, Dani and Dan went with bold, colorful arrangements that felt celebratory and exciting. It all came together beautifully and photographed perfectly.
The Reception
I have photographed a lot of weddings, and the dance floor situation at Dani and Dan's reception was one for the books. People were out there from the first song and did not stop. Both families, all the friends, everyone fully committed. It was loud and joyful and a little chaotic in the best way, and it was so clear how loved these two are. The energy in that room matched exactly who they are as a couple - exciting, warm, and just genuinely happy to be there.
Dani and Dan, thank you for letting me be part of your day and for being so easy and fun to work with - Harry is lucky to have such good humans.
From The Couple
"There aren’t enough words to say how thankful we are for Erica and her team. My best friend booked Erica for her wedding a few months before I got engaged. I knew she was not only an incredible photographer but also an incredible person when I saw her post my friend’s engagement shoot on instagram. Through both her photos and her words, Erica always seems to capture the essence of each couple, the unique thing that makes them themselves. She is an extremely hard working, thoughtful and personable person and goes above and beyond to really get to know everyone she works with.
Naturally, the first thing I did when we were ready to plan our wedding was reach out to Erica and it was one of the best decisions we made. Erica makes everything so easy. From planning the timeline, to working with the other vendors she’s always extremely organized, on top of everything. It gave us one less thing to worry about. My husband and I both dread spending hours posing for photos and Erica and her team did a great job of making us feel comfortable and capturing us in a natural way that captures who we are.
A wedding day is an extremely personal day and having Erica there felt like having another close friend in the room. On top of all of this, now we have an album full of photos where there are just too many good ones! Photos that make us smile and bring us to tears at the same time. She’s just the absolute best!"
