St Augustine Roman Catholic Church Wedding // Allie + Andrew

THE COUPLE

Way back when I used to host wedding consultations in coffee shops instead of on Zoom, Allie and Andrew met me for their consultation at a small coffee shop in Cold Spring that had no wifi, limited seating, and I’m pretty sure also didn’t accept credit card as a form of payment. (Thank God that quirky meeting places don’t have much of a bearing on whether or not I get to work with a couple for their wedding day.) Even though the space was weird, the vibes between all three of us were excellent, and Allie and I basically became fast friends who bonded over reality television - specifically, the Real Housewives of New York.

Allie is the sister of one of my other dear couples, Kerri and Brian, who got married the year before, and while these two couples are very different from each other, they are both very dear, and I feel so honored to have captured both of their wedding days.

THE VENUE

Allie and Andrew got married at St Augustine Roman Catholic Church in Ossining, NY, which is one of my very favorite churches to photograph. Its gorgeous natural light and white walls makes it a photographer’s dream. The grounds of St Augustine are also beautiful, with a view of the Hudson River, as well as lots of pretty spots to take photos. Although Allie and Andrew hosted their reception at a hotel in Tarrytown after their ceremony, we photographed all of their group and couple portraits on the church grounds because it was just that beautiful, which is a rarity for most churches.

THE DETAILS

Allie and Andrew leaned into the fact that they were having a November wedding. Their wedding party color was wine, and Allie gifted all of the bridesmaids cute plaid shawls to wear with their dresses in the cold weather. The florals were a simple collection of white flowers and greenery. Classic and understated.

THE RECEPTION

Allie and Andrew hosted their reception at a ballroom in the DoubleTree Tarrytown, and it was honestly one of the most fun receptions I’ve ever photographed. Everyone danced. Everyone laughed. Everyone was excited, and just had such a good time. It was a sweet evening.

Allie and Andrew, I think of you every holiday season when I hang the “Made It Nice” RHONY ornament that you gifted me on my Christmas tree. You really did make it nice (your wedding day and our clientfriendship, that is) - I think Dorinda would agree. 😉

FROM THE COUPLE

Oh. My. God. THESE ARE INCREDIBLE.

First of all, we love you. Second of all, there are no words to describe how thankful we are for you. Andrew has a 10 second patience for all photos and my toes were numb, but because of you, we both had the time of our lives taking pictures yesterday. AND THEN TO SEE HOW BEAUTIFUL THEY ARE? I can’t. We are still processing the day and trying to come out of the out of body experience, but seeing this pictures gave us both the chills and made it feel so much more real.
