From the moment I met Caroline and Sean, I could tell their wedding would be something truly special. These two are an incredible mix of ambition and heart; Caroline is a bright and driven software engineer, and Sean is a talented naval engineer with a calming, steady presence. Together, they’re sweet, spunky, and completely devoted to one another. Photographing their wedding at Hollow Brook Golf Club in Cortland Manor, NY was like capturing a love story in motion - rain and all.
THE COUPLE
Caroline and Sean live in Hoboken, and they love it there. They light up when they talk about their neighborhood, their routines, and how they balance their busy lives with quality time together. You can feel how deeply they respect and support one another in every laugh, glance, and gentle hand-hold throughout the day.
Their personalities came through in every part of the wedding: smart but laid-back, elegant but full of heart, fun but thoughtful. I could’ve followed them around all day just documenting the sweet way they look at each other.
THE VENUE
Hollow Brook Golf Club offered such a cozy, romantic setting, especially with the soft, rainy skies rolling over the landscape. There’s something magical about a misty, overcast day, and the venue’s natural greenery and scenic backdrop were the perfect match for the couple’s aesthetic. The ceremony was warm and intimate, filled with emotion and the comforting joy of happy guests.
The reception space felt like a retreat from the weather outside - inviting, softly lit, and beautifully styled.
THE DETAILS
Caroline and Sean chose a rich, organic color palette of greens and warm orange tones, which brought so much warmth and charm to the day. The florals were textured and vibrant, with terracotta, rust, and golden touches woven into every bouquet and table arrangement. Everything felt earthy and elevated at once.
And then there was Caroline’s dress - truly unforgettable gown. Sparkling from top to toe, with long sleeves and an A-line silhouette, it looked like it had been made just for her. It shimmered even in the softest light and was the perfect match for her radiant presence. Sean looked sharp in a classic black suit, timeless and confident beside his person.
From custom touches to perfectly chosen details, every part of the day felt like it belonged to them.
THE RECEPTION
Let’s just say - these two know how to celebrate. The reception was filled with heartfelt toasts, endless dancing, and so many joyful hugs. The rain never slowed anyone down. The energy in the room was electric and full of love.
And I have to say that my absolute favorite photos from the day were the sparkler shots. There’s something so cinematic about that moment: the glow of sparklers, the glisten of raindrops, Caroline and Sean lit up in the center, laughing and surrounded by friends and family. It felt like the perfect sendoff to a day that was deeply meaningful, endlessly fun, and utterly them.
