Elyse and Jason met on a trip to New Zealand, got married in the Hudson Valley, and somehow managed to make every part of their wedding day feel completely like them. My team had the pleasure of photographing this one, and from getting ready through the reception, it was a genuinely lovely day to witness. The Couple

Jason and Elyse are scientists who hike, play tennis, play pickleball, and share their home with two cats. They live in Massachusetts but chose the Hudson Valley as a midpoint for their families, which is the kind of thoughtful decision that seems to characterize how they operate. They're calm and warm and clearly just really happy together, and that reads in every gorgeous image of them.

The Venue

The day started at with a first look and a few portraits at Greystone House, where both Elyse and Jason got ready before heading over to Locust Grove Estate for the rest of the celebration. The outdoor ceremony near the garden was beautiful in a way that felt natural rather than completely manicured. It suited the gorgeous vibes of this day so well.

The Details

Elyse's ballgown had a subtle cutout at the waist that kept it from feeling too expected, and Jason's black and white tux with a bowtie was classic without being stiff. The wedding party wore black and plum, which is a combination that photographs so beautifully, especially against the deep greens of the estate. Everything felt cohesive without being overdone, and everyone looked absolutely stunning.

The Reception

Before the reception, Jason and Elyse snuck away for golden hour portraits, and the Hudson Valley delivered. The light was warm and the images from that window of time are some of the most beautiful of the day.
