I have to start by saying that some weddings just feel different from the moment you arrive, and Jackie and Chas's day was absolutely one of those. There was this incredible warmth and ease that made everything flow beautifully, and I left feeling like I'd spent the day with friends rather than just documenting a wedding.
The Couple
Jackie and Chas are the kind of couple that makes my job almost too easy. They were so natural with each other, so present in every moment, and so genuinely happy to be getting celebrating. There was no stress, no forced moments - just two people who are clearly best friends and completely in love.
But what really made this day special was watching them with their baby daughter. They included her in so many moments throughout the day, and the way they both lit up around her was everything. It added this extra layer of sweetness to the whole celebration - this wasn't just about two people celebrating becoming husband and wife, but about enjoying the beautiful family they've already built together.
The Venue
The wedding took place at a venue in Wallkill, and the real star was absolutely the outdoor areas. The grounds were stunning - lush and green, creating the most romantic atmosphere. We were also blessed with perfect spring weather that made everything feel even more magical.
And can we talk about that sunset? The golden hour light was absolutely exquisite. We snuck away for some couples portraits during that time, and the warm glow against the natural surroundings created some of my favorite images from the entire day.
The Details
The couple chose a lovely color palette for the day: a springy combination of navy and teal that felt fresh and perfectly suited to the season. It was such a beautiful choice - rich enough to feel slightly elevated but bright enough to feel celebratory.
And then there was Jackie's dress. It was a stunning ballgown that made her look like absolute royalty, but the real showstopper was the back- this gorgeous, dramatic bow that was both classic and unexpected. She paired it with the most spectacular veil I've seen in a long time, long and flowing and utterly romantic. The whole look was pure bridal perfection.
I also have to give a huge shoutout to Jackie's mom, who was absolutely amazing throughout the entire day. She was incredibly wonderful, just radiating joy and pride. Her warmth and energy added so much to the whole atmosphere of the day.
The Reception
The reception was exactly what you'd expect from Jackie and Chas - relaxed, fun, and full of love. Their easygoing energy set the tone for the whole evening, and their guests clearly felt comfortable just being themselves and celebrating. There was plenty of dancing, lots of laughter, and those sweet quiet moments in between where you could see the couple just taking it all in.
Jackie and Chas, thank you for trusting me to document your beautiful day. Your love for each other and for your daughter shines through in every single image, and I'm so honored I got to be there to capture it. Wishing you three a lifetime of happiness together!
